Over a 30 day period during June and July 2013, New Yorkers for Gun Safety, the anti-gun group supported by Andrew Cuomo raised $408,000. During this period, the average donation to the organization was $12,400 for a total of approximately 33 donors.
In contrast, over the same period the New York State Rifle and Pistol Association (NYSRPA) managed to raise $300,000. The average donation to NYSRPA during this period was $41.65 meaning a total of approximately 7,203 individuals and groups contributed to the cause.
Remember this the next time someone blames the NRA for buying politicians/elections/courts/etc. or says that “the people” want more gun control.
