The American Suppressor Association has announced that the ATF plans to push any decision on ATF 41P back until May 2015. Proposal 41P would require arbitrary approval from a chief law enforcement officer (CLEO) prior to submitting paperwork for transfers of NFA items (suppressors, short barreled rifles, machine guns, etc.). According to ATF representatives, the proposal garnered a record number of responses, over 9,000 in total. Federal law requires the ATF to respond to all 9,000 comments in writing.
